Really? I've tried several & found them lacking compared to French wines. To be sure, French wine is more expensive but not that more expensive.

North America has been involved in every continent-wide war in Europe since the 18th century. It'll become our war, whether we want it or not, if UKR doesn't win & Putin follows through as he's promised.

My family got ice for an icebox in our "summer house" where we stored melons & other perishable garden stuff in the 50s. We also froze food & stored it in a commercial icehouse. This was all before home freezers. And of course we canned.

I think it's one of his most attractive traits in the #MAGA sphere. So many of his supporters are insecure & fearful that they ID with his enthusiasm in acting on his worst impulses.

I watched it yesterday. I think Professor Nichols exaggerates Trump's fear. That said, it wasn't the performance of confident, secure leader who has a plan for addressing our problems. Never seen one like it in my life.

Good Christian doctrine in the sect I grew up in.

Yep, let's raise taxes on people like you & me.

Social Security bonds are redeemed with general tax revenues. When all those bonds are redeemed, it won't cost tax payers a penny more to keep benefits at current levels. Otherwise, Romney is right about raising taxes.

BWI (there's one of THOSE names there)? The Washington Monument? The Lincoln Memorial? Reagan National Airport? Why are these people so shy???

Indeed. But will SCOTUS say?

Really? What other president has ever phoned 1/2 as many state reps & senators?
December 12, 2025 at 12:41 AM
What's been lacking all the time is Reps with the courage & principles to refuse to do what Trump wants. It's always been easy. I dunno why so few do. Kudos to Reps in Indiana.

With any luck, these bozos' incompetence will limit the damage. Maybe.

Watching this go on & on & on, I'm beginning to think we need to bring back the draft.

Amtrak is an embarrassment but still better than flying. We use it as much as possible & are contemplating using it to visit family in Austin (from DC) instead of flying.

Flying is an awful experience, made bearable in business & 1st class. We avoid it as much as possible, & when we can't, we pay whatever it costs to make it bearable. Or we stay home.

I still think that if there evidence of criminality, DOJ would have pursued it. If I'm right what's there is a tremendous political liability but not a legal one.

We have neighbors who are Ethiopian & others, Eritrean, all quite religious & all "orthodox" in one way or another. They don't speak to each other. We join one for Easter & were invited to others for a wedding. Interesting experiences for suburban pagans like us.

This lady reminds me of feminist English prof I knew nearly 50 years. She was a specialist in feminist lit but had never read George Eliot

Trump can piss away taxpayers' money but banks aren't going to do the same with their money.
