Less than a week ago, New Jersey’s Governor-elect @mikiesherrill.bsky.social won on a promise to voters — no more rate hikes on day one.

The message is clear: Americans care about affordability right now. That is going to include energy costs too. I hope ALL our leaders are listening. ⚡️💡

As LIHEAP funds dry up during the federal shutdown, I’m urging my fellow Commissioners and utilities to ⏸️ pause all shutoffs. Louisiana families are already stretched thin—let’s protect our neighbors from losing heat and power.

Congratulations to @peterhubbardga.bsky.social and Dr. Johnson on their election to the Georgia Public Service Commission.

Democratic Commissioners are ready to hold utilities accountable, tackle affordability, and protect our environment . Also, don’t sleep on the South.

People like us are picking up the tab for big tech’s highest paid CEOs. 🤬

Last year $4.3 billion in transmission expansion costs were passed on to consumers in seven states. @ucs.org

TY to everyone who showed up to demand #FairMaps for Louisiana.

As #LaLege attempts to push back & rig our elections, we must tell them that the power of the people will not be diluted.

Call 225-342-6935 to demand your lawmakers protect fair maps & your vote. #LADemos #LaGov

It’s ⚡️#CareersInEnergyWeek ⚡️

From law to line work, the energy sector will hire 32M people over the next decade.

That’s why I’m working to build stronger partnerships between Louisiana’s HBCUs and utility companies — creating a long-term investment in equity and opportunity across our state.

Louisiana Public Service Commissioners make sure that utility companies provide reliable & reasonably priced services to our residents. My district includes both Baton Rouge & New Orleans. This means that sometimes our business gets done in the heart of the historic French Quarter. ⚜️

"Big Tech is following in the footsteps of Big Oil, deliberately building data centers in the South, banking on disempowered places with large Black populations to not have the local power to fight back."

Q: What does an "all of the above" energy approach mean?

A: Utilizing a wide range of resources to ensure a stable & reliable energy supply. The goal? To leverage the strengths of each & mitigate over-reliance on any single source.

What do you think is right for Louisiana?

Entergy New Orleans has sold the gas portion of its business to Delta_utilities.

Delta has assured me that they are working through any issues with their pay-in-person services.

Despite Trump, solar generation is up. But, we are going to have to fight to keep it that way.

Trump's bill is still tied up in the Senate. Not only would it slash medicaid and SNAP, it may also make your energy bills higher too.

A new report from @EnergyInnovLLC assesses the impacts of the bill on U.S. Energy costs, jobs, health, and emissions.

I hoped that today we would see a clear ruling — one that affirms democracy, upholds the Voting Rights Act, and says unequivocally that Black voters in Louisiana are entitled to fair maps & full representation. Instead #SCOTUS has re-calendarized this case for the next term:

You can bet that we will be talking about the May 25th, load shed event during tomorrow's Louisiana Public Service Commission meeting

We need long-term, inter-regional transmission planning and we need it yesterday.

What we are *not* going to do is let Trump use this as an excuse to extend the life of coal plants.

There are so many other solutions available to us when it comes to our grid, including #RenewableEnergy @politico.com

Dr. Sally O. Donlon is a lifelong resident of Lafayette and I share in her frustration with this process. I represent residents and ratepayers like her who have a clear, simple ask, “Please, ensure Louisiana has energy efficiency programs that benefit the people.”

Thank you @wwltv-mirror.bsky.social for this overview of the load shed event this weekend.

Both the Commission and New Orleans City Council will be looking into:

⚡️Entergy’s role in this outage
⚡️The lack of timely notification
⚡️& why New Orleans bore the brunt of it

Trump is trying to ✂️ the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program as we speak. Thankfully, @repfields.bsky.social is committed to protecting the 100k Louisiana families the program supports each year.

As he suggests, you can call your other reps and ask them to do the same. #SaveLIHEAP #EnergySky

At 10:30 CT this morning, @repfields.bsky.social and I will chat live about how to save the Low Income Energy Assistance Program that helps 6 million households keep the lights on.

Trump wants to eliminate this lifeline program & we must #SaveLiheap
