This time of year, with everything outside looking brown and gray, the male cardinals really stand out. So it is hard not to see them first!

Yes to the head protection! I could hear him shouting his warnings at me from the trees while I was outside yesterday. As the threats came closer and closer, I realized how vulnerable my head was. 🤣

Actually ... he started patrolling the feeders earlier this week. He kept showing up later in the day, though, after I'd posted the day's FBOMD news. 😆Yesterday was HIS day.
