New record of train problems for me. I officially have the worst @bahn.de Karma
A screen shot form the German train app, final destination is Düsseldorf with 1,5h delay. Multiple reasons/issues for the delay are given: late due to delay from before, technical difficulties with train, incidence with needed police, train operation without segment 8 and missing Barriere free toilet. Also exceptionally high demand is communicated.

Today Rachel, who joined the lab 6 years ago during her master studies, defended her PhD thesis in bioinorganic #chemsky @lmumuenchen.bsky.social Glad to also have her as part of the team at @hhu.de @chemiehhu.bsky.social

Wir heute WaldPicknickFrühstück auf dem Weg zu Kita und @hhu.de. Man beachte die zwei Basilikumblätter die als Nachtisch eingepackt wurden. Sie waren köstlich.
Holzbank. Darauf liegen eine Banane, Reiswaffeln, Flasche mit Wasser und zwei ziplock Tüten mit Kirschen, Aprikosen und zwei Basilikumblättern. Rechts und links davon kann man Beine von einem großen und einen kleinen Menschen erkennen.

Reaction network arising from the La3+-catalyzed reaction of glyoxylate and pyruvate, including non-detected intermediates with the most probable routes represented by arrows requiring either one or both of the reactants are shown. Some can be deteced by GC-MS others only by NMR, some by both.

A piece of peculiar glassware. Looks like en erlenmeyer with a screw top and five glass screws connectors on each side. Has a bit of the shape of a Christmas tree.

Thats rad! Philippes first first author preprint is out: Lanthanide-dependent Methanotroph Thrives on Radioactive #Promethium #fblockrocks! doi.org/10.26434/che... We show that both the Ln-dependent enzyme MDH as well as strain SolV can use the beta-emitter Pm-147 in its metabolism. #chemsky 🧪

Bioinorganic #ChemSky practical course @hhu.bsky.social finished! The remains of our experiments with #siderophores look like Christmas tree ornaments! The blue color arises from the CAS dye with Iron. On some agar plates Bacteria grow that produce ligands to steal iron, inducing the color change 🥽

Chocolate science! Preparing some experiments for my end of the year #ChemSky lecture @hhu.bsky.social by imprinting a diffraction grating on tempered #chocolate. Also a great way to explain polymorphism of cocoabutter crystals 🤓🧪🥽
