Santa brought the naughty list to DC today. There are so many names on it he had to schedule meetings on the hill all week. If you see him say Ho Ho Hold the line.

Yo resisters!

Hague-seth moved me to snarky poetry.

Today Judge Sarah Ellis, presiding over a Chicago case involving the use of force by federal agents during immigration roundups, began her remarks by reading every word of the poem Chicago” by Carl Sandburg.

Times like these make me value my liberal education & those goofy woke flowery humanities I nibbled on while gorging on STEMs. We’ve been here before.
In the words of WB Yeats(1919):

“The center cannot hold…

The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity”

Yo resisters! You feelin it too? #WeSeeYou

Be sure to take care of yourself. My new motto is “if Nero found time to fiddle while Rome burned, I should be able to find time to savor my meals, sleep in peace, and be with my peeps.”

Trying my best to keep the joy in this world set ablaze.

Brent Earle is proof you can face your fear by running toward it.

What race are you running?
What are you training for?
What are you waiting for?

Be like Brent Earle.

Show your #altCitizen #altPride and run your race like we’re all depending on you because we are.

It takes #AllofUs

“I’m am haunted by hundreds and hundreds of ghosts.”
-Brent Earle

Earle has lived with AIDS since 1989. Now in his 70s, he remains an activist despite declining health, reminding us that AIDS is still a crisis—disproportionately affecting low income and communities of color. #13

Earle was out, proud, and in the way, repeatedly getting arrested in ACT UP protests across the country.

An icon of gay resistance for many when there were so few, he went on to start the gay games flag run and rollerbladed with a group across America. #12

For Earle, the real enemies are ignorance and silence.

“I will say what I have to say whether they like it or not because it needs to be said.”

He went to his first ACT UP meeting & never left. He became an activist, trusting he would find a way to support his passion to cure AIDS. .#11

Mayor Koch gave Earle the key to the city, but Earle continued his criticism of the city’s AIDS response. In 1987 anyone who was HIV+ had a timetable for their own death. Some of us lost dozens of friends. Earle lost hundreds.

He kept at it for his sick, dying & dead friends. #altPride

He kept running through everything: fog, rain, snow, snakes, constant blisters, stress fractures.

Almost every week for more than a year, he’d get news updates and learn another friend had died & then another & then another.

It was a grief run and a validation of life itself. #6

His mother Marion drove the pace car most of the way, through everything.
She was the original #FreeMomHugs, lavishing hugs on men who felt like pariahs. When she & Brent spoke to communities, she told parents it was wrong to reject their children because they were not who they wanted them to be. #5

He ran a massive loop around America to bring AIDS awareness to the people. He spoke everywhere they would have him. He stopped at care homes & hospices where families left men to die. He spoke with local groups, at churches, with health care workers.

He was small town news everywhere he went. #4
June 15, 2025 at 4:50 AM
The run was funded by private donations & sales of tshirts & buttons—there were no corporate sponsors for what was to be the longest run around America. When his team told him he didn’t have enough money to finish he went anyway.

“I can’t wait. I’m late already.” #3

Earle is best known for his 10,000 mile run around America. He was an actor in NYC when his friends began dying of AIDS. Never a runner, he began training for the “American Run for the End of Aids (1985-87).” #2

Yo resisters!
Listen up for an #altCitizen #altPride history lesson about Brent Nicholson Earle (b.1951).

In the early AIDS years, long before the internets, before cell phones, before most of you were born, Earle did larger than life things you never heard of to raise awareness and #Pride. #1

Farmer Fred is pissed. Leave my Ag workers alone or give me a way to make them legal. FFS don’t arrest & injure David Huerta unless you want a shit storm of organizing.Targeting people in LA & Chicago but not WY or KS is just their way to own the libs. Its about chaos & cruelty, not immigration

Just a reminder no matter how bad it seems, we are still fortunate to be Americans.

This tiny Maasai king walks 10km each way to school with his sibs & kids from his village. Except when the herders warn of elephants 🐘 or lions 🦁 or rhinos🦏 or leopards 🐆.

Be grateful for school buses & roads.

Ali believed a person is as large or small as they think they are. He refused to define his size or himself by other people’s standards. His famous advice to young people was always: “Try to find your purpose early. What are you here for?” Strive to be your best altGOAT like only you can. (7/7)

As he aged, he never let his Parkinson’s define him; he accepted it with grace & let the world see him wobble as he lit the flame in triumph.
In 1999, Sports Illustrated named him “Sportsman of the Century.” In 2005 George W. Bush presented him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. (6/7)

He stood for civil rights & peace no matter what it cost him. You’ve heard he was found guilty of draft evasion & stripped of boxing titles. Did you know he appealed his conviction to the Supreme Court, where it was overturned? For 4 years of appeals, at his athletic peak, he could not fight.(2/7)

Muhammad Ali died on this day in 2016. He was “The People’s Champion” and an OG #altCitizen. Few have been so committed to leading by example and giving back. We all know him as the original GOAT athlete and champion but Ali believed he attained fame to achieve greater good for the people. (1/7)

It’s just such fuckery and serves no one.

Both his parents served in the navy in WWI - his mom as an advocate for women in the service! What could be more American than “Navy brat makes us all proud.”

How does this administration celebrate #Pride month? By erasing the history of #LGBTQ Americans.

Harvey Milk was an OG #altCitizen.

You can erase us from the books and take our names off the ships, but we’re here, we’re queer, get used to it.

Be like Harvey. Fight for the pride of everyone.
