I was thinking of giving it a try in a chicken. I’m glad I’ve seen the replies so I won’t be disappointed if I try to confirm that it doesn’t work and sure enough it doesn’t. But if I try and it does, that’ll be so fantastic!

We can all be redeemed (not talking religion here) and maturing people change their mind and also leave some of it unchanged. I welcome baby steps.

Thanksgiving mayhem! Family! I have 3 mayhem-making dogs in my house today. But really happy to have the people who brought the dogs, so there’s that. I like your Dad’s directness. Aren’t you glad he said it to you, not them?

What will they tell that child? 11 is likely old enough to understand some; plenty old to hear and remember from non-Leavitt sources, school mates who are nice and who aren’t, acquaintances, about how his mom got taken and who supported the taking.

Well, here in Alabama, it’s usually Peh-Kahn (how do you do a schwa?*). And before anyone says, well that’s Alabama so it must be wrong, we grow a lot of them. (Tomatoes too! Almost no tomah-toes)

Half my dislike came from family tradition/childhood, but other half of the dislike came when as adult, I got >invited< to help my non-cook mom make it every year. But I chuckle about it now, a few years after mom died. Love her and laugh at her in same thought.
