Love the series. I spoke to one of the creators in 2021 about Lazarus, the cancelled third show. Massive shame.

I love the idea of James Bond Jr. being the first Metroidvania game before Metroid.
Yeah, I was the same. Back in 2021, I finally gave Super Metroid a go, but it wasn't until an hour in that it got me. After that, it was exploring as much as possible until I found myself at the end.

Same here - Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion are perfect bed/commute games.
