Just finished @chuckwendig.bsky.social ‘s The Staircase in the Woods. Holy smoke, what a book! My favorite read of the year so far.

This is not what the President of the United States should be doing right now. Not now. And if you can’t understand why this is not what he should be doing right now, then I feel sorry for you. My God, he is such an utterly horrible human being.

I’m currently reading two detective fiction novels, Earl Emerson’s Poverty Bay, and Baltimore Blues by @lauralippman.bsky.social. They were written a decade apart and take place on opposite coasts, but both have characters by the unusual name of Tyner … and that last bit is freaking me out a little.

I loved Peter Mayer as Buffett’s guitarist all those years, but he never got the credit he deserved as a solo artist. This is by far my favorite Christmas album this year.

Why am I getting so many followers recently? Am I on somebody’s list or something? Not that I mind … it’s just weird.

I acknowledge that, at 65, I probably won’t live long enough to finish all the unread books already on my shelf and in my Kindle. And yet I keep buying books. It is what it is.

Well, the vibe sure is different over here. I think I like it.
