I continue to work with and listen to my constituents who clearly put the cost of living crisis and economic concerns at the top of their priority list. I am proud that Democrats have a clear agenda to provide meaningful affordability relief and reduce property taxes across Wisconsin... (4/5)

Our schools, local governments, and families’ pocket books have had enough of WI Republicans driving up the cost of living.

This legislation provides a 44% average reduction in property taxes for every person in Wisconsin. It will stabilize funding for our public schools and local services. (3/5)

For over a decade, Legislative Republicans have chosen to defund and disinvest from our public schools and local communities. Through that divestment, they've driven up the cost of critical public services and continually forced local property tax payers to shoulder more and more of the cost. (2/5)

Republicans took this important protection for working people out of the 2025-26 state budget. It's a proven pro-worker and pro-family solution when urgent medical needs arise -- we should make it a reality as soon as possible. (2/2)

Just a simple, moral guarantee:
No one will ever pay more for utilities than they can afford to, just to keep the lights on.

This is permanent cost-of-living relief.
This is economic justice.
This is utility justice. (2/2)

I’m joined by Citizen Action, Rep. Francesca Hong, Rep. Ryan Spaude, and many of my Democratic colleagues in proposing this necessary protection for the people of Wisconsin.

In any future, this cap on household utility bills will do enormous good. Let’s build a just, clean energy future together.

What harms? Energy bills are shooting up w/o improvements in reliability. Data centers are being planned with no public input — some of them pushed by We Energies itself. And We Energies is demanding even more fossil fuel plants.

Folks asked questions ranging from “how many Black farmers are in Wisconsin” to “how do we build quality, truly affordable housing” to “how do we end mass incarceration in the Black community?”

This is just the start of the process — stay tuned!

Now more than ever, it is important for everyone to come together as a community and care for one another. While these efforts can't replace the need for reliable, fully funded federal FoodShare/SNAP benefits, they can keep our families fed and bring our community closer together. (3/3)

Why is this needed? As you may have heard, the Trump Administration is shutting off FoodShare/SNAP benefits starting November 1st. But benefits continued during previous shutdown(s), including during the first Trump Administration. This is a cruel choice. (2/3) www.msnbc.com/msnbc/amp/rc...
Trump keeping SNAP benefits from 42 million people is cruel — and illegal
Nobody has ever questioned that contingency funds could pay for SNAP benefits in government shutdowns.
