Music, photography, introversion, dark beers, red wine, hypervigilance, Oxford commas, and an avid reader of short novels and novellas (and, occasionally, short story collections). All Dark Pastoral photos © Justin Avery. 🍉
Antisemitism is rife & must be fought at every turn, but it is not antisemitic to protest against the Israeli govt’s genocide in Gaza. Peaceful protest against genocide did not lead to the massacre at Bondi. Politicians & media making hay from this are disgusting. They profit from division and fear.

Today is the 40th anniversary of the release of Kate Bush’s ‘Hounds of Love.’ One of the greatest albums of all time, let alone the 80s. #katebush #houndsoflove

If Bondi claims the Epstein files don’t exist, what were in these binders she and others were holding aloft so triumphantly then?

Apparently it is ok for Israel to defend itself by killing desperate hungry Palestinians who are just trying to get food and aid for themselves and their families. This is a war crime. This is a genocidal act.

‘The Accidentals’ by Guadalupe Nettel. A sublime series of stories that shift between the everyday & the uncanny, featuring a beautifully-rendered cast of ‘vagrant albatrosses.’ It’s rare that I love each story in a collection. Translation by Rosalind Harvey @fitzcarraldoeds.bsky.social #BookSky
