i had thoughts about recent developments that i just now got around to saying (sorry for light mode, this site switched up on me and i've been too lazy to change it back)
i already kind of see the "formula" for this section I think. it's like we run into one of the groups on the island -> we fight -> they stop for some reason and go on their way. they made it work with the bracers because it made sense to be like ohh i see the situation now we'll help but writing got clunky as hell with cao lee group where they're like ohhh we want your genesis fragments and we'll take it by force only to stop in the middle of the fight to start family drama for no reason and just leave when the conversation ended? like uhhh weren't you guys trying to steal our shit? you don't want it anymore? why did you chose this time to have this discussion with your long lost brother instead of some other time? i do like how swin was like "uh anyone else think that was weird to sit in on" because yeah the whole time the scene was playing out i was just saying "sir this is a wendys" irl tbh up until this point I was seriously wondering why this is a supposed unfavorite of the fandom because it's actually quite good so far otherwise? the pacing is much better than even the previous game and the characters bounce off each other quite well. my guesses are: - there's going to be a huge writing drop off like maybe i'll have more of these contrived scenes where I would be like "this is clearly happening now because the plot demands it" kind of stuff - the rest of the writing is fine actually and it turns out people really don't like the time travel mechanic because it takes out the sense of danger - secret third option maybe everyone is wrong about this and it's a solid story with a couple hiccups we'll see!

now that i know games industry is like graphic design industry atm.. assume everything backed by a company/ceo/investors is using it. assume they're shrugging their shoulders and saying "everyone is going to be using it anyway next year this will blow over" they're not taking you seriously right now

Kind of funny how when you're obsessed with a certain character their mere presence on your screen can lift your mood. Like yeah I have probably like 10 diagnosed and undiagnosed ways my brain works atypically but one of those quirks makes it possible for The Character to salvage my whole day.
