I feel like the first two in particular could use new charts... What if they were in DDR World and were at the minimum rated a 12? What would it look like? Might have to mess with that idea some...

Contrary to what seems to be popular belief it IS utilizing expanded HDR color. And while it might not be to the same extent as with an OLED, you still CAN see the 120hz motion difference.

I think some people don't quite understand as well that if Metroid Prime 1 was longer for most people outside of glitching speed runners, it's because you were literally in a maze of a planet with NO vehicles and no fast travel. If it had either, the game would literally be 10-15 hours tops.

Dude it's absolutely wild. I was playing this in handheld last night and didn't even bother to put it on TV it looked so good and I was so absorbed. Like I expected some polarization but Jesus you go in some circles this tops the Mario Kart World polarization.

FUNK BOOGIE is the only one that's a second run and even then that was about a week after the first and I sure as hell didn't remember the chart so it kinda still counts. Perfect count is great though, I was more relaxed this time and it shows. The other three were the first time I played them.

Don’t get me wrong I’ll give Retro all the credit in the world for keeping with their obligation here. Game still runs a consistent 60fps with no hitches I’ve seen yet. But even with that, the 120hz 720p Switch 2 option still looks a leap better than Switch 1 docked.

To put it another way. Metroid Prime Remastered was a sharper higher resolution game on Switch 1 where distance details kept their integrity a considerable amount better, though the ground was still subject to blurring some.

THAT SAID, when I bought this game I got it for Switch 1 deliberately and upgraded it for Switch 2 so I can play it on both. And I’m just going to say this. The real game is on Switch 2. It’s perfectly playable on Switch 1 but the visual cutbacks run DEEP. Especially with the lack of HDR.

So far I’ve primarily played it at 4K 60 but my TV does interpolation in its game mode up to 120 so I get the best of both worlds at the slight expense of input. That said, 120hz is super sharp on here and the motion advantage on screen cannot be understated!

A showing of the history of BOOGIE WONDERLAND in the DDR series, with some surprising discoveries later on in the video, especially when we swap charts!
That last video completely didn't process for some odd reason so this is a redo of it. This link does work. My apologies for that.
