i love the combine and i suspect i just feel less strong about them through exposure since like. ive replayed hl2 30 times and hl1 3 times. but what the combine have in conceptual/lore depth they reeeaallllyyy lack in on screen character. i expect ill feel alyx fixes this but i aint played it yet

hl1 has way better enemy ai and enemy variation. its tech and alien weapons are way more compelling than hl2s own attempts. its kinda crazy
