I tend to keep out of these things but as someone who has dealt with an awful lot of kids over the past 34 yrs I have thoughts on this. AI is a red herring I think - Zoom teaching in lockdown, unfettered access to screens, a shift in attitude towards education as a service, underfunding, the list…

Loved this - cheered me right up as I sit between lessons wondering why I got out of bed.

I enjoyed it - there was a lot that was fun in there - an often overlooked quality. Also some really smart stuff about the way fascism can grow. Total command of the noir tropes knowingly deployed plus tongue in cheek silliness. Glad I read it.

Was a gift for me to show my class as we explore gothic tropes - they, of course, didn’t know who the ‘weirdo with white hair’ was.
