They produced a short video on quantum computing featuring an interview with yours truly and the great Fernando Brandão! Thanks to the Estadão team for the opportunity, and to all the colleagues and mentors who make this research adventure possible. 2/3

Provocative points about this once after a talk of mine indicating he disagrees, but we never got to fully discussing it! (I hope I am not misrepresenting his views) 3/3

That it will mostly be useless for combinatorial optimization applications, as one typically is interested not in expectation values (the usual output of EM), but assignments. What do you think of this “myth”? And where would you place the meter? I recall @zoltanzimboras.bsky.social making some 2/3

Very interesting! This is a topic close to my heart, so I will read it in detail and certainly have a few more questions after that. But here is a first one: I generally agree that error mitigation will be useful in some relevant regimes (I am now even working on an EM paper :)). But I still feel1/3

Indeed! Let me maybe add to Alvaro’s comment that you can efficiently implement this adiabatic algorithm and we show that the preparations is efficient for sufficiently local, high temperature states!
