A rare interview with the creators of the always-funny, always-brilliant, and *usually*-sexy—or occasionally anti-sexy—OGLAF!
Cooper has kept a low profile over the years, but is legitimately one of the very best artists in comics today. Read OGLAF if you're old enough to drive!

Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal

I think it's beautiful that not even one trillion dollars can make a loser cool. Being cool is economically immune.

I think this was the moment when I first noticed it—I looked at this panel and thought “this comic has such great characters” and then suddenly realized that one of them had been there for 90 years and the other three were only introduced in the last year-and-change but they all just *work* together

Splitting up the party is a Flash Gordon strip tradition going back to the 1930s, partially for dramatic purposes but primarily because every additional character in a scene adds half an hour of production time per panel

Today's strip has one of my favorite Bok panels in a while. Bok's a fun character to draw — part Hellboy, part Conan, less Goliath than you might think and a decent helping of Brock Samson. Season and serve.

God damn, those shields. The way the rigid geometrics make the ribcages pop? That's the kind of detail that's a real pain in the neck to work out (by hand in this case) but it'll make the piece immortal

A reminder that the Flash Gordon daily comic is REALLY FRIGGING GOOD and you should read it. @danschkade.bsky.social has made me care about Flash and his world for the first time since the 1980 Michael Hodges film. But that was high camp and this is High Adventure.

I love the 90s BERSERK intro -- it's a show about brutal violence and dreams that go down in flames, but paired with a song that makes it seem like it's about this big ol' mope who JUST can't get it TOGETHER
