Trying to limit my social media exposure but can't quite shake it. Random mix of furious politics, obscure maths, and bad jokes. D&D account @dndwithplumbing.bsky.social. He/him

A huge step back for horse welfare in sport, as the new FEI regulations reduce their "blood rule" restrictions. Previously, any horse with blood on it was immediately eliminated from competition. Now, for jumpers it only leads to a warning.

I did make an Autopastor for D&D some time ago. It's a little bit on the complicated side, though...

Ha - I just had a quick look at the Wikipedia page on the moving sofa problem and there's a couple of nice puns hidden in this section.

I'm an absolute sucker for Christmas themed snacks and these are *amazing*.

And if you haven't seen Rachael's other work, her recent Who Killed Nessie? is adorable, but The Rabbit is her masterpiece.

Football violence in the 80s was a major ongoing problem, rife with racism and constantly in the headlines. This is such an obviously idiotic take from Jenrick.

This is going to take me all day to get over.

Ooh! This is fascinating. I was noodling around this sequence on OEIS and discovered an even simpler way to write it. I don't yet know why it works, though! (I'm using sf(n) here for the superfactorial instead of n!!)

Couldn't be more delighted about our successful Kickstarter! I know it's small potatoes by some standards but it's a great result for us!

My daughter has knitted a fancy dress goat costume for her dog.

Loads of big memories in this thread, but I haven't seen anyone mention the Book of Comparisons. Loads of information about the world arranged by size, weight, and so on.

Hacker? What... what happened to you?

The weirdest spellcheck glitch I have at the moment is that my computer has decided there's no such thing as a turkey. It insists that I should change it - not even just by capitalising it but by writing "Türkiye".

Couldn't resist posting one more level, mistakes and all! We build more primes and higher powers as we go. It's a real challenge keeping track of all the combinations of 2s and 3s, but the game doesn't punish you for mistakes (although it does reward you for the real power moves!) numberclub.com

This is Number Ramble, my favourite of the three games we have so far. Take a number for a walk through its prime factors.

I suddenly realised who Nigel Farage has been reminding me of for years. The Glukkons from Abe's Odyssee.

Every single British person looking at this:
"I know it won't accept it. Obviously it won't accept it. But I have to try it, right?"
(Also "oooh, an S! You're spoiling us!")
