#WBA fan of the happy clapper variety, generally centrist politically, all opinions my own but I respect yours may be different and that’s cool 👍🏻
It might be fatigue, or it may just be that he’s not enjoying his role playing for Mason. He hides too much, a supposed “10” should want to get on the ball and impact games, not just make off the ball runs (that most of the time none of our players bother playing passes for anyway).

Mowatt is easily the closest to Sawyers of what we have now but RS was a much more composed player, with excellent ability to thread passes through to our attackers.

Price would have to actually want the ball to show he can do what Sawyers could. He’s annoying me lately, shirking responsibility.

He was the midfield metronome in Bilic’s side. Too much of an exposed luxury in the Prem and a weak Albion side for that level, but in a strong Championship team he was an integral part.

Crap? That’s a ridiculous statement. He was a central piece in a team that got promoted, had more talent in his boots than every centre mid we have now combined, they’re all just runners with barely any technical quality.

The counter attacks were much more slick, much more committed to - far less of the half hearted stop and play it safely backwards crap we’ve played for most of Mason’s tenure. The pressing was aggressive too, especially from the full backs. What a difference it made!

I absolutely want to see Albion play possession football and build from the back. You need composed players who are comfortable with the ball at their feet however. I do wish we’d sign a “regista” type to play deep in midfield and dictate play. Like Sawyers used to.

I agree about Grant, that loan at Cardiff really seemed to make the penny drop for him, since he returned he hasn’t always been great but he always seems one of our fittest and most determined players. Top performer along with Heggebø last night, took his goal superbly.

I like Phillips, he’s a solid defender, not the best on the ball and has struggled a bit of late form wise but paired with Bielik last night for the first time, both looked strong and performed well.

Yeah? Lucky for us perhaps. Thank you to whoever made them some dodgy mince pies 😁

Home form is keeping Mason safe. If that changes, and we continue to be pathetic away, then he’s surely in deep shit; but if he can keep us strong at home and somehow work it out away, then suddenly we’re playoff contenders.

Drab isn’t it. Their keeper has been a spectator. The annoying thing is, if we had a bit of quality, this would be winnable. Alas we don’t.

I predict a draw and Mason lumbering on through his purgatory for a week or two longer.

I’d take getting hammered tonight if it meant his removal though.

I like Carrick and I’d see him as a serious contender for the job. Whoever we go for when Mason inevitably has to leave should be experienced and have a track record of improving players to achieve results above expectations. We need another Corberan, basically.

Where was this rumoured by the way? Via a credible source, or just social media chatter?

I’m not sure it will be, unless it’s a really bad defeat. We’ll see. Martin is a divisive character for sure, but he’s at least got Championship pedigree and he’d attempt to make us more attractive to watch. Can be horribly naive though and is v damaged reputationally of late

Certainly want Mason gone, he’s not up to it. Nestor is CEO and Patel’s right hand man, he won’t go. But he certainly needs to get a grip and do better with the next choice. Stupid to sack Mowbray IMO, he’d have got us going this season.
