Exactly, but there is just so much more to learn. I want to learn Go + Tmpl, check out HTMX. Spend some time on accessibility, look into web components. New stuff with color spaces in CSS. And that doesn’t touch on my hobbies like Photography, smart home stuff and home-lab with notes of devops :)

No, CSS doesn’t need the same types of abstraction and complexity as a general purpose languages - it has its own. We should stop trying to solve UI problems with JS before we understand what CSS is capable of. Somehow CSS knowledge is not marketable, but JS over engineering is. Can’t figure out why

I don’t believe CSS was ever designed to be an application UI tool. CSS was built for the web. In 20 years of experience I have seen all kinds of condescension towards CSS and the people who understand it deeply.
