Aging fast doesn't necessarily mean dying fast.
The way I like to rationalize/headcanon it in my mind is "Kongs live long, but have accelerated aging periods."

A Kong may mature to adulthood or become elderly in just a few years, but their life as an adult/senior could still be long-lived.

Even ignoring canonicity, I don't think Nintendo would want to make things any more confusing than they already are. Tiny Kong being in a new Mario game would confuse things greatly

Even if Nintendo just ignored that whole side of things, It complicates everything without any satisfying reason to

You mentioned time travel a la baby characters, but there's a difference between bringing your baby self to the future vs going to the future to invite friends & family that you don't even know yet. There's a gap in logic.

DK's extended cast could possibly never appear in Mario spin-offs again.

Option 2 has no retcons, but means the DK cast are all pretty old by Bananza. And the Mario characters would all be in their 50s

Option 1 retcons all past spin-off appearances of DK characters, makes the MvDK series unlikely to have happened, & makes DKC references across all Mario games impossible

It depends on how you look at the theory, cause there are 2 scenarios:

1. The entire DK series takes place in the far future
2. ONLY Bananza takes place in the far future

option 2 would mean that all FUTURE DK games take place in the far future, while the PAST took place alongside Mario's games

I wrote 3+ replies explaining why I don't think NDC is more modern than Odyssey's, but it's not necessary lol

Basically, it just has more buildings and more billboards.
I think most of the changes are for game design, & also to fit Pauline's story, which requires a more casual look at the citizens

The unsatisfying part is specifically mentioned because it raises the question of why Nintendo would do it.
Lady-Retcon theory creates retcons for the sake of thematic cohesion.

Meanwhile, making Pauline the grandma would retcon a ton of stuff with basically no reason to. Just because?

I'm losing my mind.
Ghastly King was one of my top picks for statues, but I didn't expect it to actually happen.

And the fact we're not alternating between Bananza statues every other event means Emerlad Rush could last longer than I expected.

Okay but what if he was evil
bsky.app/profile/dani...
After getting his greenhouse destroyed, all he wanted was revenge.
He has spent years searching for a way to destroy all Kongs.
And he might've just found his answer.

Yeah, it's less "Kirby hates Modern Kirby" and more "Sakurai has little interest in/knowledge of modern Kirby"

You can tell by how all series are represented in Smash that he tends to favor aspects he's more familiar with. Making sure to represent some other stuff, but not as much as would be ideal

DK Island Swing fits the jungle areas, but not the island as a whole. And imo Simian Segue is better as a map theme than a theme that encompasses the whole island.

DK64's island theme is really great and I'm glad it has seemingly cemented itself as THE theme of DK Island.

The only way I can really imagine this in a way that works would be if the outer edge of the fountain is very shallow (like the Smash stage), but then it drops off into a pool in the center that's deep enough for swimming in.

DK Island's appearance in Bananza is the first time that the DK Head is made of a different kind of stone than the Mountains behind it, which indicates to me that it's a brand new head.
That would explain why it's smaller too.

I've heard the idea several times over the years that volcanic activity "melted" Gorilla Glacier, but no dude, those mountaintops are GONE.
It had to have been a collapse or explosion.

The idea that volcanic activity was the cause has been a very common theory though.
