I'm a speculative fiction author.

The fortune cookie said I have a charming way with words.

I don’t sing. That’s the other guy.

And all the starter kits play exactly the same - it's only the card text and theming that differentiates them. You can/should get them for about $25, but as with any collectible, it can vary. Personally, I wouldn't spend more than $30 for a starter kit.

Yep! It mostly comes down to the kids' preferred vibe. The Bloomburrow Starter Kit is great for fans of Redwall and animal adventures. The Assassin's Creed kit is faithful to the vibe of those games, but MTG sets are basically rated PG (slight PG-13 edge *maybe*), so no need to worry about content.

Not personally, but the shop where I play Magic the Gathering has a Lorcana *league*. It’s become insanely popular in a very short time, and I think you’ll probably enjoy it!

They were worried you might confuse Berlin the city with Berlin the band.

But I don’t *want* to be the greatest generation. Just… fuckin… arrgh. Forget it.

This take is only mildly hyperbolic.

We’re old, Gail.

I think the mandolin is the most deceptive kitchen tool there is. It doesn’t look as dangerous as it is.

"We're done, J.D. You can go sleep with the couch."
“Don’t you mean on the couch?”
“I said what I said.”

When's the last time we saw a politician - at any level - admit they don't know something? Asking what sui generis means? I'm on this guy's side forevermore.

I'm waiting for one to just go off on him after he insults her - and it's usually a her. Someone, anyone, please demonstrate you have a spine. That reporter he called "piggy" should have gone ballistic.

Holy shit, a Cymbeline reference out in the wild. I thought it was relegated to academia (I wrote a paper about it for my English degree, and… let’s just say, as popular as Hamlet it ain’t lol)

For Christ’s sake, Gail. The man killed Kennedy.

I hope it lasts, too, considering I’m opening one next summer.

Yep. By and large, the promised massive savings for buying digital didn’t pan out. When it’s only a couple of dollars more to buy a print book that you get to own, not license, it’s kind of a no-brainer.

Long story very short, four times I had to take an ambulance to and from a hospital to a cancer treatment center across the street (I could have walked there, had I been able to walk). The ambulance charge was $5,000.

Five. Thousand. Dollars. To drive me from one side of the street to the other.
