The MAGA lot seem to have a hard time realising that everyone else isn't actually in a cult and don't see political figures that align with their views as sacred cows... If someone's done something awful and/or illegal, then they should be bang to rights for it irrespective of their politics.

The government usually abstains on 10 minute rule bills as there's no way they can become law, but this time they did actually change their mind and say they could vote after Stella Creasy intervened... There's a bit of misinformation flying about on this.

(The point being you can't sit there criticising racists whose stock and trade is tarring entire groups with the same brush whilst doing exactly the same to another group)

I really wouldn't tar an entire group with the same brush. We know where that leads... I can categorically guarantee the young men in my household are aghast at the far right.

(I do understand what you mean by a focal point, however I honestly feel like the whole impending fratricide thing is rather overblown - it's like people are projecting the way the Tory party has behaved in the past on the Labour party. It is of course completely plausible that I'm utterly naive!)

Now, I'm certainly not convinced by the "one of his own" narrative. Or the desperation narrative. Both have come from the media.

I'm not convinced - most I've spoken to were pretty happy with either. I'm not enamoured with various things the leadership are doing, but I like both of them. I think they're both compelling. On balance I think Lucy is probably the right choice, being outside the tent. But I think Bridget would
