The new kid in the flock (photo today):

Fallen birch leaves turn from yellow to black while fallen leaves of oak or beech show various shades of brown. I wonder whether the yellow -> black transition is due to a particular fungus. Left & right are about 2 km apart. Today.

November garden bliss: a moment with flowering, fragrant rosemary in the sun. Snow predicted for next week.

Victorious naïvety:

Central station fauna just observed: a mouse has dragged a French fry longer than its own body to a safe place, and is now nibbling it away. In contrast to mice in the wild these animals are unimpressed by passersby.

What looks like an inconspicuous cloudscape has on closer inspection a faint streak in the lower left: hundreds of cranes flying at high altitude in huge, very noisy formations South to their winter habitats. Makes one painfully aware of the passing of time. Photo from yesterday.
