No wonder Conservatives hate universities: only people with no understanding of history, feminist theories or critical analysis can take these shallow, reactionnary rationalisations seriously.
Like anti-vaxxers, utterly oblivious to how bad things used to be.

AI will be worth 100 trillion by 2030, all that's needed is a few more data centres to hammer out these few remaining bugs.

"97% of wildfires in Nova Scotia are started by humans"
That data is from 1990-2009, and was originally published in this report, which includes some important context:

I unfriended the family MAGAts, so would be relieved if they stopped adding me to their silly group chats.

Interesting that @mark-carney.bsky.social does not publish everything on Bluesky, and in particular did not push this message about Iran, which was on X.

The most infuriating is the adherence to a "gold standard" set out in 1959: surpassing a physician's diagnostic accuracy.
While that IS important, the paper mentions accuracy at ordering the most appropriate diagnostic test.
That seems... useful and important?

It appears US weather forecast accuracy is also degrading very fast, a predictable result of missing data and forecasters.

Measles cases in Texas now appear to be going up exponentially.
New cases per day were ranging between 4.5 to 12, and suddenly jumped to 24.
This page recently added a time series, but not one of the values as they were reported, which is what I'm using:

In the last year, 1175 people have died of Covid in Québec.
People I know have told me I was psychologically ill for still worrying so much I wear a mask, and yesterday a stranger berated me in the metro.
Masks work. I have not had a cold or flu in years.

"a campaign aimed at Canada would likely rely less on cloak-and-dagger tactics and more on social media — such as the Elon Musk-owned X platform."
Ah, the CBC. So neutral they report on this news, and have a big bold X icon at the top of the article.
Spineless.

The self-declared king has now made the hockey game political.
Broadcasters are cowards if they try to mute the booing.
Only those who confuse anti-Trump with anti-American will have a problem with the booing.

As a chocolate maker of French origin, I would be remiss not to share that this contraption, used to cut and inspect cacao beans, is best known as a guillotine.

Any people here in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce?
I was there last, and got no answer from the councillor there on their intentions. Their website lists Facebook, X and YouTube.

Looking at city hall next. My old borough of Plateau Mont-Royal still has X in their website footer.
I wonder if I'll have to go ask questions about it at council meetings, or if this gets handled fast.
(Also: who even wants to follow their city on LinkedIn?!?)

The recent cuts make a lot more sense when we take their agenda seriously.
Trump's declarations that he'd be dictator for a day make a lot more sense in this context.
He's got enough rhetorical cover to do all the authoritarian garbage he's doing now.

No wonder people tell me Cherry Blossoms aren't what they used to be: those ingredients are what happens when corporate raiders cut costs with the shittiest options allowed by law.
It's no longer legally chocolate: it's a "coating" that is easier to manufacture, and better resists heat in storage.
