In 1989, this video shook up neuroscience. Here, glutamate triggers waves of calcium movement between astrocytes, large brain cells that reach millions of neurons. A new wave of research is revealing how this behavior influences our brain states.

I’m pleased to share these two preprints which set the theoretical foundations for uncertainty quantification in neural fields (arxiv.org/abs/2505.16343), and analyse stochastic collocation schemes (arxiv.org/abs/2505.16443). We can now study how input uncertainty is propagated by the model
Neural Field Equations with random data
We study neural field equations, which are prototypical models of large-scale cortical activity, subject to random data. We view this spatially-extended, nonlocal evolution equation as a Cauchy proble...

Dear @quantamagazine.bsky.social the method bears Newton’s name, but was not invented by Newton. Would you consider rectifying this otherwise excellent article? Here is an article that may help ems.press/content/book...

@raycast.com is undoubtedly the most exciting MacOS innovation in recent years. Unlike Apple Shortcuts, which I found fiddly, Raycast's ability to seamlessly integrate AI commands across apps is truly remarkable. This is very exciting
