He/Him
Seriously though… This is actually kind of a cool character design in itself, in the right context 😄

The official inflation figures are certainly not reflective of our printing and shipping costs, that is for sure. Everything has literally doubled since we started (just under) three years ago

What are the chances that 124 would be at the top of a pile, eh?

By the way, that MSR image is absolutely iconic. I’ve got the original press disc with that one somewhere

Any favourites @hkt3030.neocities.org ?

This was just one of four corners in that room. They had their own DEDICATED ROOM, Alex.

Oh, I’m obsessed with those bits. His delivery is hilarious

Reminds me of my grandma’s house growing up..,

Sounds like a fun task when you next get a few weeks spare. Which, I’m sure like me is never, let’s be honest 😅

Outside of an educational setting (mostly student game devs) it’s hard to say definitively though.

The Gen Z question is difficult to be precise with because we don’t collect personal information (outside of address details) so we don’t know age, gender, etc.

We *do* however know that we have a decent uptake with students, who are by general definition likely to be Gen Z.

A very small amount is due to “processing” of tariffs, to be specific £0.50 of that cost is for admin and there are currently no actual tariffs on magazines. This could of course change in the future.

The rest is inflation. Actually I just checked and it’s gone up again to £9.90 ($13 USD)

Andrew Forgham, so that nickname makes a lot of sense

Also somewhat related, despite me not having been there in seven years, and me attending pretty much every UK industry event since 2022, our US audience is now about equal to our UK audience.

Definitely some questions to answer for next year!

We were losing money on US orders for 6 to 9 months, and it got worse a few months back when Royal Mail added an extra 50p surcharge per parcel to cover “admin” associated with the new tariffs… even though magazines are exempt from tariffs at the moment.

As of this month, US orders are profitable.

I remember reading about how simply opening the windows on a bus reduced transmission by something massive like 90%, but even that was too much to ask

We had the technology to essentially destroy any and all pathogens indoors using UV and filtering hvac back in 2020, but chose not to and still haven’t.

I was optimistic we’d learn from that year, but have been left largely disappointed.

I think we may have somehow had the same life. I recorded Sci-Fi channel anime stuff in the early hours all the time. Some of which is seemingly impossible to find now, too

I went deeeeep researching the identity of the Gamez Guru a couple of years back. Eventually did find out after wondering for two decades, and realised nobody else actually cares 😅

Prior to our latest issue, we’ve actually been losing money on US orders.

Because who in their right mind would pay more in shipping than the product itself?

Don’t worry it’s ok now, pls don’t unsub 😅

Thankfully we recently crossed the threshold for a steep (50%) discount, but that’s something the smaller publications aren’t eligible for.

I couldn’t even imagine having to start from zero now.
