Never said countries just fade away. Something takes its place. And USUALLY there is a struggle, very often bloody.
But not always. I can think of a recent example: Large country, both land & population. A global power, large nuclear arsenal. A country that broke up, without nary a shot fired.

It goes beyond Trump. Most Americans believe a lot of B.S. and reject what’s real. And despite its name, the U.S. has never been a very unified country. Maybe its time is just over. There are rumblings to that effect abroad, among former allies and former foes. I think its time is just running out.
