LUCKY LU: Operates like a modern version of Bicycle Thieves in a just-as-uncaring gig economy world. However, there is a point where the grim inevitability of the film's events becomes unrelenting misery. Doesn't grab me as it should, even with Chang Chen's noteworthy performance.

The latest Cinematic Sense Monthly is out, and it has taken on a Lynchian feel.

I write about museum exhibitions, AI and the recently announced #BFI season on the great auteur (also, rice cookers - trust me, it makes sense when you read about it...)

EEPHUS: The more I think about Carson Lund's baseball hangout movie, the more I adore it. A profound and elegiac film about the end of an era. For Cinematic Sense.

ANORA: Mikey Madison is superb and Sean Baker's screwball/tragicomic film is easily one of the best of the year. My review for Cinematic Sense

Christopher Nolan's MEMENTO is a masterpiece with a unique narrative structure. So for this review for Cinematic Sense, I decided on a similiarly unique structure...

P.S. Wanted to shout out two great films I haven’t reviewed yet, but will write about in the future. DÌDI and MY OLD ASS, two crowd-pleasing coming-of-age films about being more appreciative of the family around you. #SundanceLondon

If you were lucky enough to see (or are looking forward to seeing) Sean Wang’s Dìdi, his Oscar-nominated short NǍI NAI & WÀI PÓ is now on Disney+ and is a must-watch. Inventive and rather beautiful.
