It's really based on intuition, a bit like riding a bike! You'll pick it up after a short while in a car.

I work in training simulations - a simulator may be useful but it does not replicate the full feeling and tactile response from a real car, so don't worry too much about the simulator session!

I would guess that would depend on the individual airlines' baggage policy? Some would be able to accept sports equipment, some even as part of the free baggage allowance.
