I had literally never played Magic before, but some friends of mine had put a cube together, so I read the How to Play page on the Wizards website and came over for a draft. It was a very overwhelming experience, but I went undefeated and was hooked on the game immediately. Here was my decklist:

turns out there are some really neat counterspells that cost a bunch of mana, many of which I've never seen before. (mostly because they're bad, but they're also cool.)
