I 100% support you writing whatever you want, even if it is a struggle to get there. The point of my post wasn't to discourage, so I apologize for adding to that avoidance. It may take practice, but at the end of the day, we all have different morals we want to show in our stories, & that's normal.

I'm definitely not saying don't show their sides, and be afraid of writing characters messily. Conflict is a whole point of a story, and I think I proved myself to be a messy conflict enabler. None of it is bad; I'm just saying one of these routes taken in writing is not something I can enjoy.

Whether it's bad or not is completely subjective. I personally think if it's written for Adora's POV (in third person), then it's more than IC of Adora to be emotionally constipated and feel hurt and disappointed that Catra wouldn't just follow so they could avoid the whole mess.

I also want to acknowledge that people have their reasons for siding more with Adora and that's completely fair. I just personally don’t enjoy that seeping into fics where Catra’s side is ignored and she's forced to make it all right alone.

Basically, I don't put agree with putting all the blame at Catra for a fucked up trauma response that she did stir lots of shit with without pointing out Adora’s choices where she did make mistakes and actively drove them further apart.

People not understanding the importance of Adora leaving first, telling Catra to stay put, and fully start her life ove or before she even says "btw, come with me". Not after she found Catra or went back for her - after CATRA found HER to reconnect.

Adora either doesn't apologise or it's clearly half-assed, Catra is portrayed as the sole reason of their fallout for throwing a hissy fit. Adora’s push back when Catra says in canon that she's coming with her to look for the sword is completely overlooked, and so is Catra’s willingness to follow

I think it's more visible in the conflict resolution than the conflict itself. I have a difficult time reading stories where the narrative clearly states that Catra is the only one who caused all issues and created a huge drama from nothing.
