US electricity usage peaked around 2010, and fossil fuel usage has been falling since that time. Despite increasing electrification of transport and home heating.

Also, someone has apparently figured out how the tariff rates were "calculated".

Simply paying people to go to the polls is election bribery in Wisconsin:

Now compare that to this, which is what Elon tweeted.

He didn't bother to mention that simply having an open file doesn't mean payments are happening. The SSA doesn't care if it gets a death notice if the file isn't making active claims (IE likely died before retiring).
February 18, 2025 at 7:27 PM
So the SSA has millions of files with a number, and some records, but no death notice. No payments are being made, so there's no need to clean up the database. Net result:

See: 10s of millions. Not a single bit of evidence of false payments.

Yes, Biden did, slightly, increase the number of legal refugee admissions. So what? ~800k people fleeing danger at home. All legal. All background checked. All eager to work. Just like your and my ancestors. And feel free to look up the MS St. Louis for an explanation of why its a good thing.

After all, this is what his congressional district looks like.

Bottom freezer fridges look the same as the second one, but the doors are reversed. And it’s usually a slide out drawer rather than a swing open chamber.

This shows the gradual effect of the switch from coal, and then the sharper reduction due to efficiency and renewables. It's inclusive of industrial generation and vehicles, which is why the number is higher than the one you listed.
November 25, 2024 at 7:37 PM
That being said, total electricity use has dropped by ~1/3, which is pure efficiency work.
November 25, 2024 at 7:34 PM
Some of it is a shift from coal to natural gas, simply due to cost.

I'm not saying we're there yet, but grid scale storage is going exponential. Base load is a solvable problem.
November 22, 2024 at 3:02 PM
CO2 production in the US is down more sharply. (Natural gas isn't ideal, but its better than coal).
November 19, 2024 at 7:12 PM
Graphs that give me hope: US fossil fuel consumption peaked in ~2007. (This is electricity. The downturn including transportation and others is lower, but still present).

This appears to be the same information. But of course this assumes you're eligible to move, which isn't a given.
