I don’t know if I could ever paint in this style, but I do like the piece depicted quite a lot. Take another stab at it before you discard it i’d say.

Indeed, and stopping it by directly intervening and ordering his crew that If the Americans fired on any more women and kids, that they should return fire on their fellow Americans. If in a difficult situation, I ask myself “what would Hugh Thompson do? A personal hero of mine.

“Shooting an Elephant”, an essay, is essential reading for anyone wishing to truly understand colonialism…there is a very good reading of it on youtube. Briefly:the hold of a colonial power over the colonized people is often hard, even violent, yet brittle.
