If that was the case, then why did the Obama Administration pursue the same manner of mass deportations? To reduce their voters or enforce Congress’s laws?

No. It’s actually the same as it always has been. The laws from Congress with the same penalties.

No. They are being detained pending deportation. Just like deportees have always been processed out.

If someone has an order of deportation say from 10 years ago and continues to evade enforcement, what is the appropriate manner of apprehending them?
November 22, 2025 at 8:59 PM
Correct. But criminal networks do conduct criminal business within and behalf of their own groups…whether by nationality, religion or affiliation. Presidents (& Senators) come & go, but career prosecutors can look beyond politics & ethnicities to root out crime. Being Somali isn’t an exemption.

Don’t be fooled. The Mayor election is over & the only winner will be the Mayor who will milk his celebrity status all at the expense of the NYC voters who put him there. Much of Mamdani’s big campaign talk & promises were to win. Now that he has, look for all of it to be watered down or dropped.

Resisting Trump is great Senator, but one’s ethnic origin doesn’t give a pass to crimes.
Even during the Biden Administration, Federal investigations uncovered massive fraud, corruption and crimes by a handful of Somalis defrauding Minnesota’s Child Nutrition programs.

It’s not. All I’m saying, like it or not, is that the Exec branch can only enforce what laws & penalties the Congress has legislated.

Yes they did. Much of what we see today was made possible by the aggressive actions during the Obama years.
