so think fluidity and role hybridity when you play dapple as a slayer more, not that it isnt as much of a skirmisher. if that makes sense (sorry i am hungover)

similar to tetra, but both notoriously get away with stupid kills.

like inkbrush for instance is like THE skirmishing weapon of all time. but you can still go and get quads with it for a reason. a big thing that makes most skirmishers threatening when they engage is that they CAN kill.

it can still be considered a skirmisher with that killing focus yeah. my point is that slaying-skirmishing are prob the two most fluid roles bc being able to engage and being able to win fights are two closely linked things. and a lot of weapons do both. dapples leans more into skirmishing strengths

the reason they get the skirmisher label is that imo really strong slayers arent good at fighting insomuch as they are good at killing 😭 for comparison, carbon isnt as flexible as dapples if it misses or cant close the distance. but carbon has a more instant ttk and a more punishing hitbox.

i get this but i think you are kiiind of making these roles more rigid than they are. bc to me the main distinction between weapons that we say are good skirmishers vs good slayers is "can kill" vs easy kill confirms. and dapples, like many other "rat" weapons, fall near the center of that dichotomy

well yeah of course, tons of kits are straight-up more useful in more comps. but the match-up thing is what i mean. if you're making one of those match-up tier lists, i don't think including kits is a necessity. mains are the most important thing there.
