I feel your pain. I spent way too long looking for something like the dressing gown from RDJ's Sherlock movies. I decided I just needed to make it and it dropped to the bottom of my to do list...

Mom and I stood just outside the living room, hands clamped over our mouth, holding each other up as we giggled hysterically, while Nan sat at the table and spun a comically outrageous recipe for Thelma.

Thelma tried to make that recipe for years and raved bout it every T-day until she died.

My mother, barely keeping a straight face, said "oh, Mom and DameBodacious made it, you'll have to ask them! I have to check on the pies."

I said, "Oh, it's Nan's recipe, I just followed her directions! I'm going to help mom."

Thelma passive aggressively "praised" each dish as she ate it until she came to the stuffing. Mom, Nan and I all held our breath, waiting to be caught out, a rare moment of unity among us.

"This is the BEST stuff I have ever eaten!" she gushes (non sarcastically.) "You MUST give me the recipe!"

But then there was An Incident With The Black Lab and we were out of stuffing. Mom, panicking, had my maternal grandmother and I whip together a "cornbread stuffing" which was just a box of Stovetop and a batch of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix thrown together.

Mine is all about family dynamics. My Aunt Thelma didn't "allow" my mother to host a holiday for the family until I was about 15. My mother was very excited and decided to try to outdo Thelma. Everything from scratch, gourmet, fancy pants. It was fine (mom's not a great cook but neither was Thelma)

Hey, my potter is amateurish, not rustic (I made it myself)

The built environment should be designed for humans not cars. Cars should be limited (mechanically) to safe sizes and safer speeds.

Are you really promoting something that's basically modern phrenology? Good lord, y'all.

Most Nazis were "regular people". Nice, normal neighbors who just felt ok to let out the hate in their heart. Never ever fall for the lie that the monsters wear it on their faces -- they are the person next to you in the grocery store, the bank, at the PTA.

For a nuanced take on farm policy, I highly recommend "Farm to Taber" on youtube. She has excellent insights.
