And so, I end this thread by wishing Andrew Stanton the best of luck in continuing the adventures of Woody Buzz Jessie and the rest of the gang with Toy Story 5. Which I have all the confidence in the world that it'll be another worthy film in the same quality as the previous 4 films. 😊

Well, honestly the idea of toys going up against a literal AI algorithm fits perfectly in line with the themes of a what a toy's purpose in life is. And with Andrew Stanton who made WALL-E directing TS5, it'll help give this premise the nuances needed to make it a worthwhile addition to the series.

Overall this thread perfectly sums up why I still passionately think that Toy Story 4 is a film that's an equal in quality to the first 3 films and a satisfying end for Woody's journey as a character. An now, what are my thoughts on what Toy Story 5 promises so far?

most fulfilled he's been since Andy's departure helps making them saying goodbye to each other a believable and satisfying conclusion to their friendship. Hence why Buzz says to the gang that Woody is no longer a lost toy.

a more emotional ending to watch than 3. But with him being reunited with his lost love Bo Peep and helping the carnival toys get adopted by kids, along with passing the title of sheriff to Jessie, Forky being Bonnie's favorite toy and Buzz seeing Woody being the happiest and

Going from never imagining life without Andy to helping abandoned toys who never had such a connection get an opportunity to be owned by a kid is a perfect full circle moment for his character arc. Which makes seeing Woody saying goodbye to the gang (especially Buzz)

Although Toy Story 3 would've been a perfect spot to end the series, Toy Story 4 is honestly imo a more emotionally satisfying conclusion than 3 because of how it pays off Woody's journey as a character.
