And yes for those that switched to Sling from YouTube TV you're not safe

No provider is from Disney's wrath of carriage disputes because every provider will eventually have to negotiate for a new contract and you're just swapping a current blackout for a future one
They need to get their shit together regardless

Like I hope Dish/Sling can learn from this from our dispute since they are reportedly next for their contract in 2026 because they are the worst when it comes to negotiations
YouTube TV's customers have been unable to watch ABC, ESPN and other Disney channels for two weeks. Could a resolution come this week?

Presenting my tier list for search engines

Quite obvious to have Bing/Google in the D tier especially since both engines are getting worse (although Bing has always been shit to begin with) plus being owned by Big Tech companies which means data collection and targeted advertising

Really wish that Microsoft would've stuck with the original plan especially since they went way too far with its development before the reset

Couldn't imagine how different Vista could've been had the "infamous" development reset not happened as it was originally meant to be a minor release
On this day in 2006, Windows Vista was released to manufacturing.

Happy 21st to the browser that continues the legacy of Netscape as it's the spiritual successor

And honestly as a former Firefox user I'm glad that Mozilla was saved in Mehta's ruling in the Google Search case back in September because it also would've marked the end for independent forks
On this day in 2004, Mozilla released Firefox version 1.0.

Like if I'm being honest I really hate how they are acting like it's a "big deal" when it comes to features

It really isn't though since CoPilot looking at the market share for AI chatbots it's the least used AI chatbot vs ChatGPT (80.93%) and Gemini
You know Microsoft it would be better if you would stop shoving AI down into everyone's throats

Like I'm saying CoPilot can work as a competitor in a way but if it was not shoved into everyone's faces because it's getting annoying as fuck and not everyone wants it

And I've been looking at who's next in line and it looks like Dish Network/Sling TV is reportedly once again coming up on their renewal as their contract is due for expiration in 2026

That's why I said I hope they get their shit together and be done with this dispute
Was about to say because that would be stupid since it'll just go dark again afterwards until both parties get their shit together and reach a new carriage agreement

And honestly though I'm not surprised either given that it's obvious that the focus is on CoPilot+PCs

Like I'm glad I didn't buy a CoPilot+PC because I'm sick of these stupid tactics that Microsoft is attempting and like this shit has started to get really fucking annoying to users

And it also makes me glad that I've been moving away from Google since the start of the year because of their shady business practices

Like privacy has become my priority now when it comes to doing stuff on the net
You know what I'm just glad I don't upload as much anymore because of how problematic the platform is these days

Like it's really unacceptable how they are letting AI do everything for the platform when the reality is it's not a long term solution as it's just a computer program
Holy shit. I can't believe that YouTube did this. I wonder how much abuse YouTube is willing to apply to its community before it just says "fuck this, I'm out".

And fun fact for anyone that remembers the Charter-Disney dispute from 2023
They actually threatened Disney that if no new contract was reached they weren't hesitant to shut down Spectrum TV and exit the linear TV market space

And they actually proved a point calling Disney's model "broken"
Actually interesting situation going on

Then again I hope this shit gets resolved soon and from the look of things this will likely become similar to other recent disputes (Charter and DirecTV) from 2023/2024 where their disputes lasted for days with DirecTV's dispute almost lasting 2 weeks

I'll be honest 2025 felt like a meme to YouTube TV when it came to constant carriage disputes
For the first time in nearly 4 years we YouTube TV subscribers are facing our second contract related blackout and once again with Disney.
Based on past behavior between YouTube TV (2021, 36 hours), Charter (10 days) and DirecTV (4 days), I do expect this to get resolved in the next 24 hours or so

And you know what this is also why I'm glad I started to move away from Google this year (while it was mostly due to the antitrust cases from the U.S Department of Justice and the separate antitrust case from Epic Games) as privacy on the internet is now my top priority
You know what this platform already has enough problems that I'm glad I don't upload as much anymore

Like tech on YouTube is in danger and this is why AI is not trustworthy when it comes to things like this because it's just a computer program and it doesn't know anything about the guidelines
Man I can't imagine how Microsoft themselves must be satisfied about this as they continue to close more loopholes for having a local account

So much for YouTube to use AI to do the work for the platform instead of actual humans monitoring everything
It's an example of why we shouldn't trust AI
