Something I’ve noticed in fandom spaces is the conflation of aromanticism / asexuality with lack of EQ or the inability to read social cues, which is interesting… I believe lots of people in fandom spaces are in both circles of the venn diagram so this colours perception, but I do always find myself

thinking “What does this have to do with the character being aroace?” when people bring up social blunders, lack of tact / callousness, or blindness to others’ feelings in fiction, since there are plenty of other reasons for someone to exhibit those traits that have nothing to do with attraction 🤔
