“Hey Tsukki, is that my shirt?”

Kei glared at Kōtarō as Kuroo eyed the fabric draped over Kei’s frame.

Why do you even have his clothes in your closet? Kei beamed his thoughts towards Kōtarō in hopes that his boyfriend— his very secret boyfriend— suddenly gained telepathic abilities.

“I don’t think so.” Lying through his teeth, Kei brushed past the pair of them as he settled in on the couch. He and Kōtarō had been seeing each other for a few months now, something they had been keeping from their friends while they relished in the ‘honeymoon phase’ as Kōtarō had so affectionately called it. While they had been able to keep it from them all at first, the last few weeks had far more slip ups than Kei was comfortable with. First there was Akaashi finding a second toothbrush in Kei’s bathroom. Then Hinata almost walked in on them in the locker room after one of the Jackal’s practices.

Now this. Kei had inadvertently grabbed a shirt he had thought was his boyfriend’s when it was in fact his roommate Kuroo’s.

There were not a lot of places Kei could disappear to in their apartment to avoid the inevitable confrontation with Kuroo that was upon them. Their rooms were small, not even a closet in them, and the great room could barely fit the couch and dining furniture. The bathroom was practically a closet— Kei hated having to use it. You practically had to stand in the toilet to take a shower.

It was a college student’s apartment. One that neither Kōtarō or Kuroo were willing to part with, even though they had both good paying jobs long ago.

“No,” Kuroo hummed as he trailed behind Kei to the couch, “that’s definitely my shirt. Yaku brought it back from Saint Petersburg the last time he came home.”

“He got me one too!” Kōtarō piped up, the look of panic still painted all over his face.

“So Tsukki is wearing your shirt?” Kuroo cocked an eyebrow, a smirk tugging on the corner of his lips.

“Yaku-san got me one as well.” Kei’s jaw was firm as he lied once more, hoping it would cover any hint of it that Kuroo could potentially see. He was kicking himself for not piecing it together earlier. The front of the shirt was plastered with a water-coloured image of the Winter Palace and the words ‘Saint Petersburg’ scrawled across it. Kei had just grabbed the first thing his hands landed on in a rush to cover up when they had heard Kuroo get home.

The lie could have worked, had Kōtarō not chimed in the same time as well.

“Well yeah, of course he’s wearing my shirt!” Kōtarō beamed, proud of his attempt at throwing Kuroo off the scent. Whatever tension had been building in the room broke in an instant, Kuroo preening in victory as he stretched out on the couch.

They’d finally been caught, there was no doubt in Kei’s mind. Months and months of being so careful, of keeping this little secret of his and Kōtarō’s with no pressure from anyone. But before Kuroo could start in on the pair of them, the outer door to the apartment opened up revealing Akaashi on the other side. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence for the four of them once Kei moved to Tokyo, to randomly show up at the other’s homes unannounced.

The timing of Akaashi’s arrival today was something of fate, cutting off whatever teasing was about to pour from Kuroo’s lips. At least, that’s what Kei had thought. But fate was not on his and Kōtarō’s side.

Cool azure eyes landed on Kei briefly before flitting in Kōtarō’s direction, then back to Kei.

“Had I known Kōtarō and Kei were finally announcing their relationship I would have come over sooner.”

“I’ve never liked you, Akaashi.” Kei muttered, his words lacking any sort of conviction.

While he hadn’t exactly given any thought as to how he and Kōtarō would tell everyone, this was, at the very least, not the worst way they could have done it.

Missed posting this yesterday so I guess it’s #teaserthursday ?? A small glimpse into krtsk’s past for courage, dear heart 🏴‍☠️

“So,” Tetsurō leaned against the counter, palming his chin, “is this your first time in Nassau? You look… fresh.”

He’d meant it as a compliment, but the continued scowl on his new friend’s face showed that perhaps, he’d taken it negatively. “What I mean to say is, this is not the type of place the locals nor the reputable visitors tend to flock to. Just the newly docked or scoundrels.”

“And which type of scoundrel are you?“ The blonde asked, though Tetsurō could have sworn that there was less resistance in his voice than when he first sat down. Mentally calling it another win, he smiled back before answering.

“The most dastardly of scoundrels, that I can assure you. And even if you don’t believe me, anyone else in this room can attest to it.” Tetsurō made a sweeping gesture to those sitting in the tavern as a way to flourish his declaration. The blonde still seemed unimpressed, but that didn’t deter Tetsurō one bit.

“And who told you this? Your mother? I’ve met plenty of scoundrels and I’m afraid you don’t even break the top twenty.” There was a playfulness in the blonde’s voice now as if he were starting to ease the tension in his shoulder and slowly take down the walls he had built around him.

Tetsurō was in love.

“You wound me. Do I get a chance to redeem myself?” Tetsurō feigned a pain in his chest, before taking a sip of his drink.

“I’m not breaking the law, if that’s what you’re asking.”

“No, I had something far better in mind.” Tetsurō knocked back the rest of his drink before hopping to his feet, his hand outstretched towards the blond.

It looked to the southern borders, and if he squinted hard enough, Kei was able to catch a glimpse of the ocean where it touched the horizon. Kiyoomi smirked at the raspiness of Atsumu’s voice, a by-product of rutting into his lover’s mouth roughly just moments ago. He knew that Atsumu could take it — the man had been so cocky about his lack of gag reflex when they had first met several years ago and Kiyoomi had made sure to put it to the test whenever he could.

“We’re gonna be stuck together if ya don’t get off me soon.”
