I'm in Texas and I do it because it does matter. There's a lot of dissent across the board right now. Your reps being red isn't an excuse, it's more reason to take 3 minutes and say some words at their receptionist

"i saw on the news that trump is threatening to shut down the government unless democrats bend the knee on trans healthcare and i'm calling to say that i will never vote for [name] again if they do. i would rather they shut down the government." and they will say "thank you i'll pass that on"

and remember, DO NOT STOP CALLING.
