I found it surprisingly candid (which, as you note, may be the reason for its status now). However, it shows that an institutional tome--a tome about an institution?--can do some truth-telling. Consider me a vote for bringing it back!!

—for my 13th, my dad was able to borrow a 16mm print of "Hard Day's Night" that we ran at the party. Admittedly, that was less out of Beatles love—that classical bubble strikes again—& more that Dad was a film buff (me being one in training), but I grew to enjoy them more & more because of that. . .
