Weaving piña or abaca cloth is extraordinary. It is hard to imagine the skill, patience and artistry required to turn pineapple leaves into one of my barongs. Deep respect to the traditional weavers who keep this Filipino heritage alive.

We are deeply grateful to the Department of Agriculture for their strong support to the Farmers’ Cooperatives under #SAAD programme. Without them, we could not have delivered anticipatory actions. Together, we helping those most vulnerable to climate impacts while building strong protocols.

Super Typhoon #UwanPH: #AnticipatoryAction continues as DA - SAAD Cagayan Valley now supports farmers’ cooperatives and associations in relocating cattle to safer areas & reinforcing pens for pigs, goats, sheep & poultry.
Mushroom houses and greenhouses are also being secured against strong winds.
