Gratefully living on traditional territories of the Ligwiłda'xw people; the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum & Kwiakah First Nations
I miss him too. Hoping if/when the world becomes right-side up again, he will do a PMPT and make a come back. Though mostly I hope he just enjoys his kids and life.

I keep saying the country needs Premier Kinew at the helm. Or at least more like him, since he’s not done making Manitoba everything it can and should be yet.

I should’ve re-read before posting! Meant to say one of the first. 😳 I know Eby campaigned on dropping it but they removed it fast & without fanfare. Didn’t realise it was gone til I got my first GST rebate following & it wasn’t there. (BC tied carbon rebate with GST) Financial scramble ensued.

It would be incredible for so, so many people. I’m really struggling with my carbon rebate gone. When you’re on a low fixed pension, every dollar counts hugely. I still can’t believe an NDP gov scrapped the first carbon tax in the country (BC).

I would add that even if they refuse to believe the man of the hour has no nefarious intent, can they not pause for even a brief moment & imagine what someone they are more able to criticize might do with these bills in place?

Where has any critical thinking gone? Everything is upside down.

What I really don’t understand is this apparent inability to offer even the slightest criticism. It’s not healthy and conducive to a fair and democratic society to believe whatever our government says or does, despite the bait & switch, is just fine. Hold them accountable ffs.

Until Harper /IDU are gone, the Reform-a-cons will continue to be a threat to this country no matter who they put at the helm of their bogus CPC.
November 9, 2025 at 5:50 PM
The only difference it made to this senior, on a low fixed pension, was the loss of my carbon rebate that was so helpful. I know Eby mentioned scrapping it before the BC election, but they did so very quietly, so I didn’t notice till the rebate I counted on was gone.

Digits firmly crossed, though until the CPC lose Harper and the IDU once and for all, they remain the Reform party with nothing left of what once was the Conservative Party in this country.

I literally have it tattooed on my arm. I’ve been blessed to see Sir Paul in concert twice. He’s magnificent.

Me too. He is among the most inspiring and engaging leaders we have ever seen.

Back atcha! I really get pissed when my generation acts like complete and utter fools & does it from their disillusioned place of moral superiority!

I am a woman in my 70th year. I didn’t follow any of you previously but know who to follow now & it’s not you. Please reflect on your words. Given your vast knowledge & life experience I shouldn’t have to explain the meaning of condescension or rude to you. Don’t reply - my finger is on mute now.

Thank you for sharing. I am also deeply ashamed of the atrocities of colonialism. Originally from SK & what I was taught in school went beyond misinformation. Until we, as settlers, face all the truths, how can we have reconciliation?
