Oof this was a good and depressing read. We do see some of that (along with lack of understanding of grammar structures) in college.

Ha ha fair enough! If it weren't for the reading group, I wouldn't read as many ha ha. It's fun to sometimes diss a bad book 😁

But there are some gems hidden in the romantasy genre! And the genre does a lot to get young readers into myth and mythology 👍🏻

And @jenkatwrites.bsky.social if you ever want to talk romantasy, I'm your gal. Currently reading the Godkiller series (which is actually well-written! Which is not to a given in this genre 😅)

I want more recommendations on games that tackle literary works in interesting ways!

Like this really great take on Dante's Inferno by Lorenzo Trenti, which keeps the structure of Hell and asks players to fill it with new content and play as the Guide, the Wanderer, and the Damned one. (I will translate it and share, I promise!)

This. Thanks for the lobby chats, as always. ❤️ Excellent thread and I want more games, and particularly TTRPGs, looking at how we can play through literature. Looking at books and series as systems and structures. So much potential.

I'll share some thoughts when I try it!
