This is not the kind of thing that gets undone easily. Because the issue isn’t really the existence of a jury per se, it’s that due process would require spending money and “we’d rather just not do that”.

An actual situation where the US is an exceptional nation.

And Pelia very clearly went gallivanting across the universe with Doctor Who.

The search firm's job is partly to manage the confidentiality of the process, which makes the issue you point out worse.

Large school districts do the same thing, and it's pretty common to have a lot of senior leadership turnover in those spots which creates different issues with continuity.

Mr. "You're Fired" has been incredibly bad at firing people.

He's good at making the job awful and so you quit, but he really doesn't fire people. Confrontation's hard for the old man.

Saddam was an enemy of Clinton too (the no-fly zone was enforced through air strikes), and that didn't justify Bush's invasion.

Star Trek feels the weight of its canon.

I do like Ethan Peck’s Spock, but it’s very hard to be the third actor playing one of the most iconic characters ever.

No, the six month extension includes when the SoL has run.

But the district court gets to appoint Halligan’s replacement, not Bondi, so they’re going to pick someone sensible who won’t pursue these obviously bogus indictments.
November 24, 2025 at 6:02 PM
But Bondi doesn’t get to pick the new interim DA. These two indictments are so flagrantly unjustified that I doubt the district court is going to pick someone who will go forward.
November 24, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Except that this also prevents Bondi from appointing the replacement - the district court has to do so, and they’re going to pick someone sensible.

They’re not getting anything for themselves because Trump and the admin are too greedy and incompetent to help them out.
November 24, 2025 at 4:45 PM
There can be density maxima for specific infrastructure reasons, but that’s not what most urban density requirements are about.

Like the parts of suburbia on septic systems, you’re enforcing engineering requirements via zoning because there’s just a minimum lot size for the septic field.

2024 had: Iowa, Hawaii, Alaska, Wyoming, Idaho, and 4 (non-PR) territories. Diminished, but those were 3.5% of the total delegate haul.
November 24, 2025 at 2:47 AM
You probably also need to officially do away with multi-step caucuses as well. I'm not sure how much the 2024 rules changes help.

Like in Iowa in 2008:
On Election Night, the delegates were 16-15-14 (Obama, Clinton, Edwards), but Obama organized for the county caucuses and ended up 28-14-3.
November 24, 2025 at 2:41 AM
It probably depends on who wins instead. Like if it's Pritzker or Van Hollen or Beshear? They're probably fine with it.

A lot of establishment inside-the-Beltway types would lose their minds if it's AOC.

*National RCV. State-level RCV is a disaster because most states won't want to do it.
November 24, 2025 at 2:18 AM
RCV is less likely to create a contested convention. Proportional delegates but needing 50%+1 means that unless the race rapidly consolidates to 2 candidates it's very likely to be contested.

That was the theory of Bernie's 2020 plan.

That largely was the postwar consensus - lots of veterans both in the White House and in senior roles both there and in Capitol Hill.

This isn’t the first time - look how she stood up for congestion pricing months ago - but it shows how the mod/liberal dichotomy isn’t fully explaining 2025 politics.
