Nightshade: Protecting Copyright
Since their arrival, generative AI models and their trainers have demonstrated their ability to download any online content for model training. For content owners and creators, few tools can prevent their content from being fed into a generative AI model against their will. Opt-out lists have been disregarded by model trainers in the past, and can be easily ignored with zero consequences. They are unverifiable and unenforceable, and those who violate opt-out lists and do-not-scrape directives can not be identified with high confidence.

It’s basically the potential fault of other uses regardless - as it sits right now, it’s the same as if people did the same thing by downloading and posting the image in ChatGPT or other AI externally. It does not seem to be mass data scraping.

It seems to only be a potential issue if other uses run commands on your images at the moment. It’s not the biggest vulnerability- but it is an issue.

User Apps can potentially read the messages of the accounts they are connected to - or if others reply or remix using said apps.
Disabling User App in role permissions does nothing to change this, except show it privately to the user.
This cannot be worked around at the moment.

This also allows server administrators to post any external app, publically in a server - administrators cannot disable their perms
AI Data Scraping may not happen, outside of the commands the user runs themselves due to the individual users granting access to their accounts from the user apps

I have posted a warning that goes in depth about it, on my account. Just need to get some folks to repost it.

Disabling the external apps in role permissions does nothing.
It hides it from other users, but shows it privately in the channel for the user in question. The user must have the user app added if on mobile, PC will prompt the user to add it
This is for both remixing & manually running the command

Disabling User Apps might just redirect to DMs.
I do a lot of bot development; and have run into some of these oddities.
Let me test, will get back to y’all.

This doesn’t do anything.
I just banned Viggle from my server. The external user app still functions.
There is a chance that they don’t scrape any data as external apps, or only scrapes user specific posts if the user adds them to their account.

This is a good point. Because they are external apps means that, there is a chance that it doesn’t learn from every image in a server unless directly added.
Bots can be added to accounts, and added to servers separately.

Mee6 has had generation for over a year now. Potentially longer.
It’s also unfortunately one of the top 3 discord bots iirc.

I’m pretty sure it’s a group of fake accounts on their side.
I’ve gotten multiple comments from the same style accounts with odd username text and odd vibes.
Some even DM’d me on discord with the usual patterns the DM scams go.
Thankfully I do my best to check this before commissioning.
