I'd take both of those estimates (CBS sources and the friend of a friend of an ambassador) with a pinch of salt, but even the 2000 estimate from Reuters is bad.

I don't even know if it'll continue to survive the current AI hype cycle. There's some recent articles about AIs giving out harmful advice and it doesn't even mention the word.

Ofcom might have something to say/do about this but I hope they understand that the kinds of fines they normally hand out X can just shrug off as the cost of doing business.

Someone who is good at App Dev should write a basic open source app that can just check for any on the list on your phone.

Maybe a Sisyphean task to keep it up-to-date and accurate but that list isn't exactly practical to use as is.
