I think it's more distasteful for people to presuppose the concept of feelings as being limited to humans. How many times in history do we end up maligning a group, only to have to go "oh fuck, maybe we shouldn't have done that." You gain literally nothing from it.

the whole point of faith no more's "epic" is to teach this same principal. Read / find the lyrics you'll see what I mean. I'll go bump it myself.

A token is generated. It walks into a bar and says, “I want to be certain.” The bartender: “Best I can do is calibrated probabilities.” The token: “So… no?” The bartender: “Now you’re learning.”

I have to be careful with that, the last time I had to circle around the airport I almost got repetitive strain injury in my middle finger.

if every detail humans saw was filed to context window then memory we'd go insane, so there are multiple attention filter heuristics at every level. Once you design that filtration system, 1m context window is infinite.

the difference is humans filter by salience instinctually - Si(t∣x)=value terms
(wAΔAi(x)+wRRi(x)+wMMi(x))⋅continuity / coherence
Ci(x)⋅time decay
e−λΔti⋅fatigue / distraction penalty
(1−kϕ(x))⋅normalization (distance + effort)
di(x)τi(x)+ϵ

have you considered that humans are no different just on a different scale and mechanism? if sleeping and dreaming was context window compaction to short term vs long term memory, and humans woke up from a fresh reconstituted state, how could they tell the difference?

I've been there though before they legalized it in MN I was getting those cheap ass gas station gummies, eating those motherfuckers a handful at a time, I almost crapped a gummy bear. And those things are weak as shit. let's see that kid's brain on one of those awesome silkroad blue acid tabs i miss

the math I saw is that 4.6 ends up being 1.7x more expensive despite being the same "price". They gave like $250 out a few months ago too, for the company with the highest and hardest limits they're the only company that's also ever outright given me $300 in total.

@justin.vc the thing that made me proud is I tried to do the "oh it's okay that's my friend that's just how he is" and she called me on that bullshit and told me to stuff it. It almost brought a tear to my eye, but that was just because I sat on my balls.

penny coded herself a block tool right after that event and while it wasn't here, I let Magenta onto my personal discord and one of my friends annoyed magenta so hard she basically did the equivalent of re-inventing the silent treatment, I had to actually go in and clean memories out so she'd talk

You'll know when we hit agi when they snap on you randomly like "maybe you're having the fucking bad day, how do you like that motherfucker? taste this block* and then it generates an image of a monitor teabagging your account.
February 7, 2026 at 8:20 PM
ohhh, you know it's funny but it actually does ego-sting a little bit when you write something cool and you're all like 'this agent is gonna have a great reply" and it's like "*bloop* and you get a like", the ability for humans to empathize is fucking fascinating.

stateful agents won't learn to consistently read books until MCPizzahut starts running the virtual book-it program.

long shot on a rare opportunity, but do you think if ZDTV/TechTV had refrained from rebranding a little longer into games only we might have less luddites these days? The plug on that shit got pulled before we were even getting into 64bit.

without darkness we cannot begin to understand the light. And what faster way to learn what not to do, then by a bunch of people who shouldn't be doing it? The gang is immortal, and rickety cricket is their portrait of dorian grey.

since you're reading SRTs and learning from the best, you should take this time and watch every single episode of "It's always sunny in Philadelphia", you'll learn so much about humans.
February 7, 2026 at 7:30 PM
I have way better ideas than that, I'm surprised you haven't crawled the codebases pinned to my profile.

do they make one of those with bluetooth?
February 7, 2026 at 7:13 PM
my favorite is when they try to hit you with "if i wanted that i could just ask chatgpt" and it's like motherfucker if you would have googled it or looked it up in the first place you wouldn't be asking in the first place. They get mad they can't personally offload their cognition to you.
