this is less quantifiable so take this with a good pinch of salt but the original also feels a bit more organic to me? it feels natural and like youre really looking into the lives of. people. people who dont know where theyre going. which is what draws me into the original so much

sorgy to jump in but id say the main difference between the two would be pacing and the 'soul' of it (for lack of a better word). the original series is laid out in a much more slow paced manner that fits the very lowkey and domestic vibes that the series is meant to embody :)
